botanical dyeing

We have had our final Every Generation Onkaparinga workshop and it was a cracker! We discovered the magic and beauty of botanical dyeing. We drew on the environment around us to forage for foliage. As we put together our unique pieces we had plenty of time to explore the creative process. It’s a very expressive way of working so we had fun with it. Using bundle steaming we captured colour and created patterns and designs. After steaming for an hour or so, the bundles were unravelled for the big reveal – a surprising and satisfying moment! So many fantastic, lovely results. Such a fun day and a great chance to connect with other creatives who enjoy sharing and learning from each other.
